Tell-tale Heart by:Courtney cook

Tell-tale Heart is a very heart racing story. The plot of the story is exciting. This is a story about a crazy man that wants to kill the old man with the vulture eye, yet the old man never did anything to the crazy guy. The mood gives the reader a sense of terror and death. Also, the imagery in the story gives the reader a great picture of what's happening. These three Literary components are what makes the story very interesting.
The plot of the story is what keeps you thinking. "I grew very pale, how, I say, there came to my ears a low, dull, quick sound, such as a watch makes when enveloped in cotton."Eder Allen Poe said this on page 628. This is supposed to make the reader think that the man is growing very nervous. Also, it makes you think that the man is guilty. "For minutes longer I refrained and stood still but the beating grew louder, louder!!"This quote was on page 628. The crazy man thought the old man's heart was still beating. He got very scared and nervous, afraid the cops would hear. As the crazy man did not know that his heart was beating loudly from him being afraid. The plot is interesting but the mood is more terrifying.
The mood of Tell-tale Heart gives the reader a sense of terror and death. "It was the groan of mortal terror." Edger Allen Poe is telling the reader that there is a sense of death. The old man had a lot of terror from killing the old man. "The hellish tattoo of the heart increased." The a author was referring to the heartbeat of the old man. "As it grew louder and louder," the crazy man is guilty of his own crime, but the eye drove him mad. The mood has a sense of terror but the imagery gives the story more excitement.
The imagery in the story gives you a great picture of what's happening in the story. "He had the eye of a vulture." The crazy man had a fear of the old man's eye. He said, "it follows me around like a vulture looking for it's prey. I undid the lantern cautiously oh, so cautiously-cautiously-i undid it just so much that a single thin ray fell upon the vulture eye." This quote is on page 626. The crazy man had been undoing the lantern for hours making sure that only a thin ray of light fell upon the eye. It took the crazy man along time to plan the killing of the old man. The old mans eye troubled the crazy man no more, yet it was the guilt that kills him now.
