Response to Literture

Do you like scary stories during Halloween time, well then this story is for you.The book Tell-Tale Heart by Edger Allen Poe is very good and intensely good. In this story there is an old man that doesn't think he is crazy and believes he is more in tune with his senses then other people in the world around him. But he has this old man that is his best friend but he has this eye, an eye like a vulture that drives the crazy man nuts. In Tell-Tale Heart the story has very good imagery, a scary mood, and an exciting plot.

The imagery in Tell-Tale Heart makes you go home with nightmares that's how vivid and scary the imagery is. "He was stone dead" (pg. 629), is one of the intense quotes he uses during this story. Also it makes you wonder how he killed the man to have him just laying there dead not moving like a stone. Another quote from the story is, "The disease sharpened my senses.", (pg. 625), is good imagery because it explains what the crazy man thinks plus it makes you think that he has like a extreme specialty. That's why his imagery is so good.

The mood is so scary in this story that it makes you jump right out of your seat in some parts. One of the quotes in this story on page 625 "I loved the old man" makes you believe that he really didn't want to kill the old man but he needed to. Then he kills the man because of the eye. "Pale-blue eye, with film over it" pg. 625 also has a mood maker by describing the eye and how dreadful it is. It makes you wonder if the eye has like powers or something random effect on people. Plus you always feel like your going to see an eye like this one day.

The plot in Tell-Tale Heart gives the reader a sense of death. In the story the man says, "The old mans hour had come"(pg. 628). This is what the man says right before he is about to attack the old man and kill him. Also he says this because he's been spying on the man every-night for the last few weeks. Another quote from the story is "I admit the Deed". He says this when being interviewed by the police for the mans death. Plus his heart his beating and he thinks it's the old man's heart still alive and it scares him.

As from what I told you, you can see that Tell-Tale Heart the imagery is excellent, the mood is scary, and a plot that will keep you on your seat. As the man is crazy and the old man is innocent he still kills him. The old man though has an eye, and eye that looks like a vultures and scares and bothers the crazy man.
