         HOW TO TIE A TIE

 

 What is a tie.?

A tie is a man’s accessory. Tie’s can be worn as part of a uniform such as the military, school, wait-staff, and more. Some choose too wear them, as every day attire.  It may make you look younger, heftier and maybe even more masculine, it depends on whom you ask.  They come in different colors and designs to match the event you may be attending, sports, teams, holidays, and just about anything.

 

Things you may need:

·      Collar shirt (optional)

How to make Confetti Eggs Sarah R.

How to make Cascarones (confetti eggs)

 

 

Cascarones are also known as confetti eggs. Confetti eggs are fun to make and also fun to crack on people’s heads.

 

Materials needed:

·     Bowl

·     Egg dying kit

·     1 dozen eggs

·     tissue paper

·     glitter

·     hole punch

·     paper

 

Steps to making the confetti eggs:

1.                   Fill a bowl with warm water and mix in the egg dye.

2.                   Then, with a different bowl tap the egg lightly until you see it crack.

3.                   Once you see it crack, tear a 1 inch hole out f the egg.

4.                   Then, pour the yolk out of the egg and rinse thoroughly with water.

5.                   Next, dip the egg in the egg dye with whatever color until your egg is completely covered with color.

6.                   Then, fill the egg halfway with confetti and glitter.

7.                    Next, cover the hole with tissue paper.

8.                   Lastly, make sure your eggs stay in a safe place so they do not break.

 

Tips and Warnings:

1.                   You can fill the eggs with anything Ex- Mardi Gras- beads, Easter- candy, Halloween- candy corn

2.                   If you don’t have a good vacuum cleaner, it’s better to break them outside.

3.                   Make sure your egg is stored in a safe spot.

Technology Essay

Do you ever wish you could make a classroom super fun? Well if I could create a new form of technology to make the classroom a better place, it would be iTable.

An iTable is like an iPad but bigger and indestructible and a lot cooler. It is just like a regular table but it is all touch screen, and when it is turned off it looks just like a real table. I think it would be used a lot in classes.

In the class it could be used for writing essays so we don’t have to go down to the computer lab. Also another way we would use the iTable is to research projects in class. Also if you need to use the internet for anything it would be there. And also I think the students would really enjoy the iTable.

A few ways that would help the teachers and students. One thing would saving a walk down to the computer lab everyday. Then we could stop wasting time walking to the computer lab and have more time to learn in class.

So do you ever wish you can make class a lot more fun. With the iTable you can, and it will be a lot easier in many ways. And it will make every a lot better and easier.

Technology in Our Classroom: Touchdesk

 

 

Imagine if you never had to open a book or pick up a pencil in a classroom ever again. This could change the way kids think about school, it would also make the classroom more interactive. If I could create a new form if technology to make the classroom a better place, it would be a touch screen desk.

My touchdesk would be just like a giant ipad. With 85 GB, each desk has virtually no limit to what it can hold. The teacher’s desk would be the administrator; he/she could send the lesson plan to everyone’s desk and even to a certain students’. There would be a lock at the top of each desk to prevent any miss touches; the teacher would also be able to lock each desk to avoid distractions. This could be used in the classroom in many ways.

       My piece of technology could be used as a word processor, cut out paper use, and eliminate textbooks when they are downloaded onto each desk. Instead of going to a computer lab, the classes can stay in the classrooms and type there. This would also cut out paper use because the daily bulletin could be sent to the computers, and all the assignments could be done on the touchdesks. Eliminating textbooks will help because, unlike regular textbooks, digital ones won’t wear out so new ones won’t be needed. This advancement in technology could help both teachers and students in lots of ways.

       This desk could help students and teachers by being able to do more assignments in a shorter amount of time, it could help students like school better, and the teachers wouldn’t have a ton of papers to take home. All of the assignments would be done on the touchdesk, so there wouldn’t be any long transitioning while papers are being passed out and whatnot. Students love technology, so this would encourage them to go to school, and actually enjoy it. The assignments would be sent to the teacher’s touchdesk, so the teacher can grade it on there, instead of having a bunch of papers that can easily be lost. The touchdesk is a major problem solver.

       If I could create a new form if technology to make the classroom a better place, it would be a touch screen desk. The touchdesk could eliminate many problems with the way kids view school, and make them more technologically advanced. Our education systems could use some technology.

Laptop Solar

A Laptop Solar? What is this strange devise? A Laptop Solar is a laptop with solar panels on the top. If I could create a new form of technology to make the classroom a better place, it would be a Laptop Solar because it would be portable and it will be charge on free electricity.

The Laptop Solar would be 12''by 12'', any color you choose, and the internet would be connected to satellites, so you can take it anywhere and get internet. In the box, the laptop, a mouse, a charger if you are working at night, a new set of keys if the others break or you want to change the color of them, and a small tube where you can pour water into and it cools the machine down. The charger has a small solar panel on it to so you can get extra power. There are many ways to use this special laptop.


The laptop could be used to type documents, search for information, or find games relating to the subject for learning. If you need to or want to start a essay due the next day, you can start typing it during a break in school. You can also gather notes from the internet and put them into your documents. The games folder installed into the laptop allows you to search through all the game genres and play the game and learn about that subject. Teachers and students can use it.

Teachers would use it to find games, email other teachers, and look for websites. The students would do everything above. Finding games that have a lot of info and are fun is important because you don't want to be playing a mindless games with no meaning. You can email other teachers about which games are good or bad or schedules. It is important to look for websites because some topics are hard to find and others may have wrong information. That is what the Laptops Solar can do.

If I could create a new piece of technology I would create the Laptop Solar. This technology would help learning be fun and productive. Education need technology so the students can learn more in the same amount of time.

     Are you tired of seeing trash laying on the floor and the fact that no one wants to pick it up? Or maybe, you could be tired that the teacher makes you pick up trash that is probably not yours! Well, I think that everyone needs a certain type of technology in the classroom that will solve this messy problem, don’t you? If I could create a new form of technology to make the classroom a better place, it would be a silent robot vacuum.

 

     The silent robot vacuum would be a great technology in the classroom. The silent robot vacuum is a machine that would easily sweep up trash off the floor in just seconds. Its size would be half of a foot tall so that it’s not too big. It’s in the shape of a square but with a round top. It has four wheels so that it’s well balanced, in front there’s thick and small brushes that will help sweep up the trash just like in a regular vacuum, and at the top there’s a storage space where all the trash is put. Also, there is a red sensor in the front that can see and feel any trash being thrown on the floor from distances as long as the classroom. Now, here are some good ways in which this invention can be used.

 

     This little cleaning machine will work very well in the classroom. It can sweep up junk such as crumpled papers, dirt, eraser shavings, and other trash that can be left behind on the ground. The silent robot vacuum can be used every single day, keeping everything a trash-free zone. Wouldn’t you want our classroom to be a clean place? I’m sure you would. In the next paragraph, here are some reasons how students and teachers can use this machine.

 

     The silent robot vacuum would make the classroom a better place because when people leave their trash on the floor and the teachers or students don’t pick it up, the silent robot vacuum can automatically sense the trash that is being thrown on the ground and will swiftly come by to quickly take in the trash, leaving the floor clean again. Since the robot vacuum is silent, it will not disturb the teacher as she teaches the class while the silent robot vacuum is doing its job, making the classroom a fun and clean environment. And not to worry, this machine will NOT attack any student holding trash because this machine is made to only pick up trash on the floor.

 

      The silent robot vacuum would be a really cool technology for our whole class. This invention can help our school and will help our future because if we all learn how to clean up our environment, then we could be making a big difference for our planet.

Touch Screen Desks
Have you ever imagined of using touch screen desks? If I could create a new form of technology to make the classroom a better place, it would be touch screen desks. It can help us pay attention, be organized, and stop the use of paper.
Firstly, having touch screen desks will help us stay interested and organized in what we are doing. It will look like a normal school desk. It will include an app store where you can download different apps that you will need in the class subject. The touch screen desk can help students become for organized also. It will not need the use of Wi-Fi, we can just open it without needing to log into a Wi-Fi account. We will have different files with passwords that only the person who has that file will be able to open it.
Secondly, the touch screen desk will make it easier to type essays than write them, it keeps the students well organized, and it’s more fun to learn and use. We can be organized because we wouldn’t Next, here are some ways that this invention will be helpful to teachers and students.
Thirdly, the touch screen desk would save the use of paper because so many trees have been cut and students would rather type their essays than write them. You won’t have to carry or take home big text books because you can open up an app with whichever book you need. It can also save money because you wont have to buy pencils, pens, and erasers because all you would need is your finger.
In conclusion, I think having touch screen desks will be a grea new idea for technology in schools. It has great organization, it uses less paper than saving and printing everything. We will pay more attention to what we are learning.

Do you hate going to school because it’s boring? Well a new type of technology that we could invent could be a touch screen desk.

Touch screen desks could help us with is keeping our backpack organized. Instead of taking home books and papers we could open up books and our papers online by saving our work on the desk and opening it at home which would make our backpacks organized and light.

The second thing touch screen desks would do is make class more fun and easier to write essays. It would make typing essays easier because we would be able to sit at are desks and simply type our essays on the desk. Also each student could have a file on the desk that they could only open and store stuff on it. Then when you got home you could open your file and continue any work you have to finish.

Lastly Touch screen desks would help students be organized, save the use of paper so the school would be able to pay teachers more money, and finally it would let students start there essays in class, save them, and finish them at home. This would help a lot and we would be able to have more fun in class instead of writing we would type.

These are the reasons why we should have touch screen desks. This would help students and teachers in many ways. Schools need touch screen desks to make class fun and educational at the same time.

Say one day you were running late and you didn’t have time to eat breakfast, you could transport your self to mc Donald’s an got a sausage mc muffin.

        The teleporter could help the world very much. People that couldn’t afford to fly to a place you could type in your destination deposit 5 dollars and you would end up were you wanted. The teleporter would charge 5 dollars for in the country trip and 20 dollars for a trip to the other side of the world. This would benefit schools by helping them not use money for gas for the busses but just to use a teleporter to get somewhere.

Do you dislike reading those boring history books? I certainly do. If I could create a form of technology that would make the classroom a better place, it would be a hologram that tells us stories about its past life in history.

 

My technology will be a hologram that tells stories about its past life in history. The hologram will look like any guy your learning about in history. It will be small and always in the history book ready to tell stories. It would also not have to be charged and u can turn it off or on. Anytime you open your history book the hologram will pop up and wait to tell its story. The last thing it could do is reenact while telling the story, and knows all different languages for other states.

             

       In addition it could be used to tell you stories, talk about interesting facts and tell you things that teachers didn’t even know about their lives. It could be used to tell you stories by just you asking. For example maybe you would say how did you figure out that the world goes round and round. It would then tell you a whole story about how he did. For facts all you would have to do is say tell me the facts about your life, the hologram will go on and on until you tell it to stop. The best thing is the hologram can tell you stories that teachers didn’t even know by just saying tell the secret parts of you life.

 

       Therefore this would definitely help the teachers and the students. It would help the teacher because she wouldn’t have to keep reading the stories to students and explaining them. So the teachers can do other important things while the kids are learning from the hologram. This would help the students because their definitely learning a lot about history, and also having fun with watching the hologram reenact the parts while telling the story.

 

In conclusion if I could create a new form of technology, it would be a hologram. This technology will help our education because it’s very useful for history and knows every little fact about the life of the person your learning about. Our education needs this technology. We have very little technology but with this hologram it would help most schools with technology difficulties.

Future Technology In Schools
Have you ever had an idea that would change the way we live? It could be anything from a pencil that writes for you to flying cars that fly for you. I have an idea that could change the way students learn in the classrooms. My idea would be to have touch screen I pad desks.
Touch screen decks could really benefit all students wanting to learn. Just imagine, all the uses it could have and do. Kids could solve math equations or type a whole essay or even to looking up words in a dictionary or theories. It would save paper and the trip to the computer lab. The touch screen desk would have every quality that a computer has although, only things that are programmed on it that are educational. I think a touch screen desk could make a big impact in the way kids learn.
The touch screen desk can be monitored and filtered. For example, when taking a tests on the touch screen desk there would be no way to cheat, because the teacher would have the main touch screen and it could lock and unlock certain programs. The kids could send their finished work and anything to the teacher. It would also have a binder reminder connected to you email that the teacher would type in you assignments and could check them at home. For then if your absent you know were to go. Also, there would never be an excuse that you lost you binder reminder or forgot to write in your homework. Having the touch screen desks will improve are schools.
This could also benefit teachers in there lessons. Instead of having to write on a white board or using a projector. They could send their assignments to their students. Or send them notes that they need to study for a test. It would also make grading easer too, not having to collect papers and not being able to read people writing then passing back all the papers. Instead everything would be neat and can be sent there and back with a click of a button. The touch screen desk will improve our schools and our world.

The touch screen desk will improve learning, teaching, and our world. Technology is important and we should improve technology to make our live better and easer. Help make touch screen desks apart of all the schools around the world, because I know it will improve learning.

         Do you ever sit at school, at your desk and stare of into space? I have to say, school does get pretty boring at some parts and if we had great technology we would be able to stay on task more of the time because we wouldn’t get as bored. If I could create a new form of technology to make the class room a better place, it would be an iFloor book.

         An iFloor is on your floor in a classroom. It’s like a touch screen all over your floor. There are little spaces with just regular ground but most of it is touch screen. You can walk on it, draw on it, and pretty much use your body on it. There would be different features to it. You could ask it questions, it could show you examples of topics your focusing on, and it can teach you a lesson. Then iFloor seems pretty high tech to me and there are many ways it can be used for great study habits.         

         The iFloor can be used by solving math problems, learning lessons, and teaching you the skills you need for the rest of your educational life. Say your teacher gives you a math problem. You could step on the number you would need to use to solve the equation. If your learning a lesson, you could plug in words with the sentences and that way you’re having fun using a touch screen with your feet, but your also learning. It would teach you great ways how to study. For most kids, studying is boring and no body likes doing it. It would keep the kids entertained and

                                              TODAY’S THE FUTURE

 

        

         You’re sitting there in class, with an acing hand…AGAIN. Like always. It burns so much but you have too continue, to not miss out on the lesson. If only there was only a way to kill the pain without going insane. Oh wait! You remember you bought the new Talk and Write. Your voice generating, mechanical writing, robot pencil. With this, you’ll for sure finish your homework, notes, essays, and any other typing or writing project. This will for sure make the class room a better place on many different levels.

 

         Talk and Write will change your life, and your everyday school activities. It would be made of metal and wood for fast easy transportation. This fun and cute accessory will sure too turn heads with its new microphone look. It looks like a microphone, feels like a microphone, you even use it like a microphone, but its not. To activate this new invention you twist the middle open, and turn the “on” switch. Lucky for you, it doesn’t need batteries. You can insert any 7.0 size lead, which is inserted to the main whole, which is easily spotted on top. Isn’t it nice without hand pain?

 

         One way it can be used in a classroom is when you have to do paperwork, of course. No pain, a huge gain.  It will make writing faster, to speed up time and get more work done. Also, it’s built in laser can be used as a pointer in class, which will help show everyone what you’re talking about, or explain a thought you have. Another way it may be helpful in a classroom is that your hand won’t cramp. When your hand is cramping, can you concentrate? I think not. It’ll improve your concentrating skills’ which means more learning, and when you learn what do you do? You get smarter. Smarter means better grades. Better grades you need to get to a good college. Does school ever get boring or uninteresting from looking inside a text book and doing worksheets? Many schools and teachers believe that using technology and interesting courses can improve test scores and concentration for students. Major Owens, former congressman, said, “Children are already accustomed to a world that moves faster and is more exciting than anything a teacher in front of a classroom can do." If I could create a new form of technology to make the classroom a better place, it would be a remote that controls the school for you in your hands.

My technology would be a handheld remote that controls the school. It would look like a Logitech Harmony 1100 Universal Remote. But instead of controlling just TVs you could control doors, bathroom, lights, music, and many other things. This would be a very good idea.

This could be used in the classroom to Google things, help with math, and be an interactive device for games. Not only would it Google but the Internet would be able to be used and accessed for school things. To help with math you could use like a calculator or website or notepad to help for workspace and to practice. Then you could play games relating to the course and subject. These are some ways to benefit the classroom.

This would help teachers and students by not using paper or pencils/pens. You could save money on school supplies and items. And teachers could grade from them and not have to worry about anything breaking.

In conclusion, remote controlled device would be an innovative way to change classes. It will help by making things faster and saving money. Education needs technology because many students are used to having things instantly and are not as concentrated anymore and would be more interested in technology then writing out of a textbook.

Future Technology in the classroom

 

Do you ever struggle with keeping up in class, like with note taking?  Well this is why I want to propose a white board that rewrites what the teacher says so you know exactly what he or she want you to take notes on. I think this will make a classroom a better place.

All you need to make this technology work is one little microphone that clips to your shirt. If necessary you can plug in a chip from the White Board Teacher to your computer or laptop, so the teacher can type the notes instead of speaking aloud.

 This classroom product can be used to take notes easily from the White Board Teacher. The second way is to put up classroom assignments, homework, important school info and more. The last way is to be able to write or draw anything you wish with a special white board pen and erasers app on the bottom of the board.     

 The White Board Teacher is useful in three helpful ways, one way it can help is that it will make it easier for the student to take notes and to see the notes, another way it’s helpful is that the teacher can get up and walk around will doing the notes and help the students. The last way is the fun way to take notes by adding animations to the notes by using the computer or laptop. This is benefitail to everyone in the classroom.

With new advances in technology, you may never have to do this again! People throughout history have made our life easier. For example, the computer, cell phone, and even cars. If I could create a new form of technology to make the classroom a better place, it would be a voice-automated pencil or pen.

This flashy blue and black fuzzy pen could be a start of a revolutionary change. Using the pen or pencil would be a great jump into the new electronic age. The pencil or pen would include a built in dictionary, thesaurus, spell check, and a little touch screen used to look at these such things. One of the great things about this new technology is that you would program it to only respond to your voice, considering there is an average of about thirty students in each class. This pen or pencil has many beneficial elements going for it.

There are various ways my tool can benefit the classroom, such as using word processing, having higher level thinking words being used, and helping our youth become better readers and writers. Benefiting the classroom would be an easy task with this new technology. If you stop and think using this pen or pencils almost like word processing. It spell checks and you can look up words when needed to. Another contribution it could make is letting the kids’ branch out into high level words. Students are encouraged to try and get better at school and this will help the youth become better readers and writers.

Teachers are a big contribution to the education of the children all around the world. One sacrifice they have to make is giving up spare time to write lessons, and notes. The voice automated pen or pencil could help teachers get these tasks done faster and more efficient. With kids it could help them get into higher level thinking words and help them be ready for the grades following. Using this new technology could benefit both the teachers and students.

This could help our world get ready for the technical age that we are slowly slipping into. Interactive binder reminders

  If you could invent any type of technology for classrooms, what would it be? I think using technology for classrooms would be a lot more useful because it would save a lot of paper and save a lot of money. If I could create a new form of technology to make the classroom a better place, it would be interactive binder reminders.

 

         An interactive binder reminder would look the same as our regular binder reminders but, when you open it, it would look like a computer.   One way I think that interactive binder reminders would be beneficial are instead of the teacher copying thirty pieces of paper and every student taking one, the teacher would put the assignment online and we could copy the assignment onto a word document and email the assignment to the teacher. Then, the teacher would grade the assignment online and email the grade back to you. I think this would be a lot more helpful to teachers and students because it would save paper. Also, students wouldn’t have to carry around a backpack full of books. All in all, interactive binder reminders would be extremely helpful.

 

       Interactive binder reminders would be extremely beneficial because instead of every student walking down to the computer lab everyday, then we could stay in our classrooms and work in their binder reminders. This would also save a lot of time because, when every student walks down to the computer lab it takes at least five minutes to get everyone logged in and ready. With the interactive binder reminder, we could get into the classroom and take out the binder reminder and start working.  As you can see, interactive binder reminders would save a lot of time and energy.

 

       Another reason the interactive binder reminder would be useful is because it wouldn’t need Wi-Fi. This would be helpful because everyone’s binder reminder would work a lot faster. A faster binder reminder means you could work faster, get your work done sooner and turn it in earlier. Lastly, interactive binder reminders would work faster than computers and students would turn in their work faster.

 

            If I could create a new form of technology to make the classroom a better place, it would be interactive binder reminders. I think technology in classrooms would be more useful because it would save paper, money and time. As you can see, an interactive binder reminder would be a great addition to classrooms.

To be honest I don’t want a magic pen or something but I would like new computers in the computer lab. Yep no talking holograms just some more up to date computers that won’t freeze up and a better Internet server because the schools server is pretty slow. So I say Why jump so far into the future when the past isn’t up to date.

 

Now I don’t mind Macs infact I prefer them but these models are so old and slow but I’m not saying to go and buy the best computers out there but at the least replace these with the same model because the computers in our school have speakers missing and drawing on the old keyboards that I’m typing on. But you may ask are the computers really that important?

 

Our class uses computers almost every day we are always researching or typing an essay on the computers and I take computer animation so I use these computers every day. These things can get so slow to the point were you just have to sit and wait for the computer to start working instead of learning so this can make it pretty hard to learn. In computer animation if you aren’t the first few to log on it could take five minutes just to get into the program. But would it be helpful for the teachers as well?

 

I say it does for a start at the begging of the year the server was down, the teachers had to learn rapidly how to learn the new grading system. Well that took from my memory about two weeks to fix before I could know my grade. The teaches had a very hard time getting every thing running because the server was of poor quality and the computers were not exactly up to date but the computers in the classroom work a lot faster than the computers in the lab.

 

I know this idea isn’t digging into the future but why skip to the future when the past isn’t fixed. As a student I really like using the computers but I would really like them to work up to par instead of sitting around waiting for my computer to work.

GEORGE WASHINGTON: On April 30, 1789, George Washington, standing on the balcony of Federal Hall on Wall Street in New York, took his oath of office as the first President of the United States. He pursued two intertwined interests: military arts and western expansion. From 1759 to the outbreak of the American Revolution, Washington managed his lands around Mount Vernon and served in the Virginia House of Burgesses. When the Second Continental Congress assembled in Philadelphia in May 1775, Washington, one of the Virginia delegates, was elected Commander in Chief of the Continental Army. On July 3, 1775, at Cambridge, Massachusetts, he took command of his ill-trained troops and embarked upon a war that was to last six grueling years. Ensuing battles saw him fall back slowly, then strike unexpectedly. Finally in 1781 with the aid of French allies--he forced the surrender of Cornwallis at Yorktown.

JOHN ADAMS: John Adams was more remarkable as a political philosopher than as a politician. During the Revolutionary War he served in France and Holland in diplomatic roles, and helped negotiate the treaty of peace. From 1785 to 1788 he was minister to the Court of St. James's, returning to be elected Vice President under George Washington. Adams' two terms as Vice President were frustrating experiences for a man of his vigor, intellect, and vanity. When Adams became President, the war between the French and British was causing great frustrations for the United States. Adams sent three commissioners to France, but in the spring of 1798 word arrived that the French Foreign Minister Talleyrand and the Directory had refused to negotiate with them unless they were to pay them money of there liking. Adams reported the insult to the Congress, and the Senate printed the correspondence, in which the Frenchmen referred to as "X, Y, and Z Fever." Since then, the federalist had never been so popular. 

THOMAS JEFFERSON: In apart of the Virginia House of Burgesses and the Continental Congress, he contributed his writing rather than his voice to the patriot cause. As the "silent member" of the Congress, Jefferson, at 33, drafted the Declaration of Independence. Thomas Jefferson had written a bill establishing religious freedom, an enacted in 1786. Jefferson opposed a strong centralized Government and championed the rights of states. As a reluctant candidate for President in 1796, Jefferson came within three votes of election. Through a flaw in the Constitution, he became Vice President. Thomas Jefferson Cut back Army and Navy expenditures eliminated the budget, through away the tax on the whiskey.

JAMES MADISON: He was born in 1751; Madison was brought up in Orange County, Virginia, and attended Princeton (then called the College of New Jersey). A student of history and government, well read in law, he participated in the framing of the Virginia Constitution. In 1776 he served in the Continental Congress, and was a leader in the Virginia Assembly. When delegates to the Constitutional Convention assembled at Philadelphia, the 36-year-old Madison took frequent and emphatic part in the debates. During the first year of Madison's Administration, the United States prohibited trade with both Britain and France; then in May, 1810, Congress authorized trade with both, directing the President, if either would accept America's view of neutral rights, to forbid trade with the other nation.

JAMES MONROE: Born in Westmoreland County, Virginia, in 1758. Monroe attended the College of William and Mary, fought with distinction in the Continental Army, and practiced law in Fredericksburg, Virginia. As a youthful politician, he joined the anti-Federalists in the Virginia Convention which ratified the Constitution, and in 1790, an advocate of Jeffersonian policies, was elected United States Senator. As Minister to France in 1794-1796, he displayed strong sympathies for the French cause; later, with Robert R. Livingston, he helped negotiate the Louisiana Purchase.

John Adams

·      One of the most influential Founding Fathers of The United States.

·      Adams came to prominence in the early stages of the American Revolution.

·      He played a leading role in persuading Congress to declare independence, and assisted Thomas Jefferson in drafting the United States Declaration of Independence in 1776.

·      Adams began his career as a lawyer. He successfully defended the British soldiers involved in the Boston Massacre (1770) with only two of the eight found guilty of manslaughter believing that it was important to ensure that innocents were protected.

·      He kept America out of war with France and normalizes relations between the two countries.

 

 

James Madison

·      One of the Founding Fathers of the United States. The "Father of the Constitution," he was the principal author of the document.

In 1788, he wrote over a third of the Federalist Papers, still the                 most influential commentary on the Constitution.

·      The first president to have served in the United States Congress, he was a leader in the 1st United States Congress, drafting many basic laws, and was responsible for the first ten amendments to the Constitution

James Monroe

 

·      President Monroe issued a statement later known as the Monroe Doctrine, which declared the US no longer be considered for future colonization by any European power.

• James Monroe served one term as governor of Virginia.
• "The Era of Good Feelings", a time when the United States focused on expansion and ignored the troubles of the European nations.
• He is famous for the Monroe Doctrine (1823), which proclaimed U.S. hostility toward any European intervention in the Americas.
