NICKS AWESOME STORY!!!!

Take a second to think about this. What is one thing you use every day, carry in your pocket, and feel naked without it: the cell phone!!! Thanks to Martin Cooper, you all have one! Here’s his story from my point of view. He was born on Dec. 26 1958 and is still alive to this day!

After world war 2, Martin went to Illinois Institute of Technology and received a bachelors degree in electrical engineering. He then went to work at TeleType, a company that made new advances in electronics. After working at TeleType, he went to work at Motorola where he became a manager. Trying to figure out a new prototype for the car phone, he made the cell phone! After inventing this, he always said, “people want to talk to each other!”

If it wasn’t for Martin, it probably would have taken a couple more years for someone to invent the cell phone and we probably would not have all the “4G” and touchscreen advancements we have today. When he was working at Motorola as a manager he was trying so hard to make the car phone better, he once said,” Whenever you create a universal device that does all things for all people, it does not do any things well.” He was always trying to perfect everything he did, he would spend hours just working on new types of software or phone technology. "Martin Cooper was on his way to a press conference, when he decided to make a trial call. He made the first wireless call to his rival Dr. Joe Engel, the Research Director at AT&T Bell's Lab on April 13, 1973. That call was to change the communication world forever, as he was able to tap into people's need to freely talk to each other.” Ever since then he was always making new advancements in the phone business better.

Since Martin invented the cell phone, people everywhere have been able to talk on the go. Before Martin you wouldn’t be able to call someone if you were in a car or on the street, you would have to go inside somewhere to make a call. Now, with all of the new technology designers have put into cell phones to make them smaller, smarter, and better at what they do. "Today, when a crime is solved or prevented, a patient reaches hospital in time for surgery, a job is found on the internet, or a plane did not take off because of accurate weather, forecast, Dr. Martin Cooper's mobile phone invention, may have played a significant role."

Martin cooper was born on Dec. 26 1958, ever since then the world has been a better place!
