Have you ever thought you could grow up and change the world? Jackie Robinson is an idol in the world of baseball. He was the first African American player to play baseball professionally. He was born on January 31, 1919, in Cairo, Georgia. He had four siblings, one sister and three brothers. Before playing baseball professionally he was in the United States Army. After he was discharged, he went right into baseball. Jackie died October 24, 1972, at age fifty-three.
Jackie Robinson was inspired to play sports because of his brother, Matthew. His brother was a great runner. He ran in the Olympics in 1936, and took the gold. Jackie was a great baseball player, he impacted the world today and people still look up to him, admiring his greatness.
Mr. Robinson made a difference in the world because of his skills and sportsmanship in the game of baseball. Without him, people may have not been able to play baseball, if they were a different race. He impacted the world of baseball tremendously and his reputation still lives on today.
Jackie Robinson impacted the lives of kids back then and now, to go for their dreams, and anything can happen. Today, kids still look up to him as their hero of the past time of baseball. He probably has impacted so many people to go for things, no matter how hard it is. This is how Jackie Robinson affected life in the past and today.
This world-changing man was a historical figure of the world. He grew up in poverty with his brothers and sister and he grew up to be a great man. He is one of the most amazing people that ever walked the earth.
