Second Body Paragraph:

The surprise ending makes the story interesting and it makes the read want to read it. If you had a boring story with no surprise ending no one would want to take the time to read it. You always was something surprising in your stories. “I was never kinder to the old man than during the whole week before I killed him”. “Here! Here! Is the beating of the old mans hideous heart”. It the first quote, he’s telling you that he was very rude and mean to the old man but then the week he wanted to kill him, he wanted to be very nice and kind to him. In the second quote he’s describing the heartbeat of the old man when he heard it with his own two ears. Surprise ending is one of my favorites because it always gets you wondering.

Intro Paragraph.

Have you ever felt like someone was watching you? They were watching ever move you make; looking for the right time to pounce. In this story Edgar Allen Poe keeps the reader on the edge of your seat, not knowing what is going to happen next. Tell-tale Heart is about a crazy man, who is Vexed by an old mans pale blue eye. This crazy man ends up killing the Old guy, all because of a pale blue eye. This story is very mysterious and the reader is never going to know what to expect. Tell –tale heart by Edgar Allen Poe, displays a sinister mood, fantastic plot, and a very interesting surprise ending.

Body paragraph

The dark and gloomy mood in Tell-tale heart gives the reader a sense of death and doom. “I put in a dark lantern, all closed, closed so tar no light shone out.” this quote displays it is dark and suspenseful. Another quote is, “ Presently I heard a slight groan, and I knew it was the groan of moral terror”. This quote I think has meaning, to me it means that the old man feels the crazy guys presence. I also think that he crazy guy feels the old mans terror. I believe that this story, Tell-tale Heart, is a story that displays a very descriptive mood, that make the reader jump of the edge of his seat with excitement.

The mood in the story is very mysterious and it makes the reader wonder why Edgar Allen Poe used the descriptive words he used. “I put in a dark lantern, all closed, closed that so no night shone out.” “His room was black as pitch with the thick darkness.” In the first quote, the author tells you how he wants no light to show in the room and he wants to be in a dark place. The second quote tells you that his room is very dark and the thickness of the darkness is very spooky just how the author describes it in the story. I think the mood is very helpful because you can picture the imagery in your head much easier.

Tell-Tale Heart

So far this year we have read at least 4 stories and out of those 4 stories my favorite was Tell-Tale Heart. This is because Tell-Tale Heart it was very interesting and it kept me wanting to read more. The ending was very shocking and when i finished it made me want to read it again. This book first starts with this crazy old man with a neighbor that has a messed up eye. It really bugs him and he thinks the only way of getting rid of it is by murdering the guy! In the end the guy goes nuts and tells the police where he hid the body. The police were shocked to find it under the floor boards, they were even more shocked when they found out that he was the was the murder. Tell-Tale Heart, by Edgar Allen Poe has descriptive figurative language, suspense, and a shocking conclusion, and that what I loved about the book.

In Tell-Tale Heart the descriptive language is very well put, it really pulls you into the story. " Until, at length, a single dim ray, like the thread of a spider" is just one use of the figurative language in this story. there is also a lot more such as, " And now a new anxiety seized me". Now that's an excellent way to use descriptive language!

The suspense in this story makes you just want to jump out of your skin. It sends a scary shiver through your bones and makes your mouth drop completely. Its probably going to be one of the best suspense stories we read this year. "Although he neither saw nor heard-to feel the presents of my head within the room. Now that's a good way to catch a reader! But that's just one way he uses suspense in this story. If you ever need to use suspense just think of Edgar Allen Poe.

The conclusion in this story is just shocking. He ends up going nuts and actually killing the old man. He suffocates the old man with his mattress. " He was stone dead". After he killed him he cut the old man up and hid him under the floor boards. He said no one would ever find him unless.... he went crazy and turned himself in because he thought the old man was still alive, when it was only him losing his mind. He screamed "I did it, I killed the old man!" They arrested him on the spot. " His eye would trouble me no more" said the man as they pulled him away.

In this Edger Allan Poe did as best as he could to pull the reader into his story. I think he did an excellent job on it to. He captured the reader by using figurative language, suspense, and an amazing conclusion. And in the end Edgar Allen Poe is one crazy person but he was still a very influential writer.

In class we read the Tell-tale Heart, Edgar Allen Poe does an extraordinary job of bringing his characters to life, and writing a suspenseful rising action and climax. Tell-tale Heart is a story about two men, they are good friends,and one takes care of the other. One man, who claims he is not insane, is put on edge because of the old man's vulture like blue eye. not able to continue to see the eye everyday, he decides to kill the man. Stocking him each night, waiting for the time that's right for the kill. Watching him sleep day after day, silently, carefully, slowly, until one day the door slips from his fingertips. the old man wakes up alarmed by the noise. Not able to postpone the dreadful task any longer, he crushes the old man under his own bed. Then continued to take the man apart and hide each limb under the wooden floor boards. Soon the cops showed up, due to report of loud noise. The man is calm throughout the questioning, acting as if nothing is wrong. Time goes by without him giving any suspicion away. He thinks he's gotten away with it, and he has, almost. But the cops will not go away, he soon cannot take it any more. He snaps. Unable to hide it any longer, he reveals his dreadful doings.
I think a part of what makes this story good is its characters. Edgar Allen Poe has an amazing talent for creating interesting characters, such as the old man. I love the way he tells of the mans blue eye, but his finest character creation was the insane man. He described this crazy man in such a way that made me believe such a person could exist.
The suspense in this story was unbelievable, you couldn't help wondering when the insane man was going to make his move. He would wait night after night, just watching the man sleep. You could never be sure when something was going to happen. The stories suspense is what made me want to continue reading.

Edgar Allen Poe's Tell-tale Heart, had a great rising action leading to an even better climax. Just when you started to wonder what was going to happen his climax came keeping you hooked on the action. In his story the climax was when the crazy man finally kills the blue eyed old man, crushing him under his own bed. The climax completes the story.
Edger Allen Poe is an extraordinary Author, he writes his stories to the best of their ability. Using all of these components to make the reader feel exactly the way he wants them to feel.

-Have you read any of Edgar Allen Poe's stories? Their pretty good, he knows how to make a story descriptive. I like refer to him as the Poe man. My favorite and only story I've read by him is Tell-Tale Heart. In this short story there is a crazy man that is annoyed by another guys eye and he ends up killing him because of it. Tell-Tale Heart, by Edgar Allen Poe has descriptive figurative language, jaw-dropping suspense, and a unpredictable conclusion.
-The descriptive figurative language in Tell-Tale Heart makes the reader feel like their right in the story. "Until, at length, a single dim ray, like the the thread of a spider,"is one of many descriptive sentences in Tell-Tale Heart. It describes the light that pass through the door and the room. Another descriptive sentence was, "And now a new anxiety seized me." This describes when he gives up to his guiltiness after he kills the man.
-The jaw dropping suspense in Tell-Tale Heart makes the reader not expecting anything! "So i opened it-you can't imagine how stealthily, stealthily." This is when he opens the door as quiet as possible. I think Poe repeats himself to make it sound more suspenseful."For a whole hour I didn't move a muscle and in the mean time I did not hear him lie down." He says this when he's watching the man with the messed up eye sleep but he wakes up.
-The unpredictable conclusion makes a great story better. "He was stone dead." This is when he smothers him with a mattress. "His eye would trouble me no more." Poe says this when he's killed the man and cut off his limb, and hid him under the floor boards. Then too make it even more unpredictable Poe loses himself to his guilt. He tells the cops what he did and where he put him.
-Tell-Tale Heart, by Edgar Allen Poe has descriptive figurative language, jaw dropping suspense, and an unpredictable conclusion. If you haven't read an Edgar Allan Poe story you should deffinately consider it. In Tell-Tale Heart there is a crazy man who is greater vexed about this man's eye.
